Born in São Paulo, Brazil and raised in Miami, Florida, I grew up watching and making movies with my older brother. Despite being cast in less glamorous roles — see: guy duct taped to a chair, for some reason — I loved the playfulness and camaraderie that came with making home videos. My sense of humor was shaped by comedy shows I was too young to be watching, my appetite for horror from the scarring that came with early 2000s web horror. It all blended together to inform my taste today, as my work moves between surrealism, absurdity, and sincerity.
